Loris Hovian

was born in Abadan in 1973.
In 1998 he moved to Armenia where he studied conducting with the greatest maestros such as Yuri Davtyan in 2004 he graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory and was awarded the PhD in Opera & Symphonic Conducting.
He is currently professor of Music Theory, Score-Reading & Conducting at Tehran University, UAST (University of Applied Science and Technology) of Tehran, UAST of Shiraz & UAST of Gorgan. Also he is the director of university’s choir.
He has been an active singer since 1990 (lyric Tenor) in numerous choruses.
He was Founder & Principal Conductor of the IRIBU (Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcast University) Symphony Orchestra.
He along with Sialkshamber orchestra, won the first prize in 23rd Fajr International music festival in 2007.
